President's Announcement

PictureMary Meyers, CEOE
The UAEOP Board had a lengthy, in-depth discussion on the future of UAEOP during our October 2018 board meeting.

UAEOP has provided exceptional conferences and opportunities for Utah office pros for over 25 years. We’ve made friendships and connections that mean so much to each of us. We’ve encouraged leaders. We’ve developed skills that help us in our professional and personal lives. Many dedicated individuals have given countless hours of service to the association.

For the last several years, we have faced many of the challenges other professional associations have also experienced. Our membership numbers fluctuate creating recruitment, retention, and engagement issues. We have challenges with having enough people to participate on the board and committees. We recognize people have limited time, energy, and resources to commit to a volunteer position and have tried numerous strategies to create engagement, build membership, and find new officers, but it has not been enough.

As a result, the board has voted to dissolve the UAEOP organization as of July 31, 2019.

Members gathered on Saturday, March 9th to celebrate our journey. Our website (www.uaeop.org), blog, and social media sites will still be active and we will continue to post to them.

This has been an extremely difficult decision, however, it is time to let go. As NAEOP Keynote Speaker, Paul Wesselmann expressed this year, “Change is hard, but also growth”. Our intent is to make this a positive change, celebrate our association, find a way to keep the personal connections we have made, and share professional development opportunities.

We appreciate your support of UAEOP whether you are a one-year member or have belonged since the beginning. Thank you for all you have done to make UAEOP a success.
